Born in Sturgis, Pennsylvania, on August 3, 1918, Eddie attended high school in Olphant, Pa., where he starred in baseball, football, and basketball. His hobbies are hunting and fishing. He runs a meat market and grocery store during the winter months. Played with Sacramento last year where he appeared in 121 games, with a hitting average of .291, driving in 33 runs.
