The Sacramento Solons of 1947

LOU McCOLLUM
Solons Pitcher

Lou had a hobby of making trout flies and other fishing tackle. In the 1946 seson he was optioned to the Solon farm club at Wenatchee where he was given the chance to work every four days and, at the same time, help out a strained Wenatchee staff. The Wenatcheee pitching situation became critical when Gene Babbitt was sidelined with injuries, and Manager Buddy Ryan sent out the SOS for help.
